Guitar and Mandolin Lessons

Learn One-on-One via Zoom Lessons Online

One-on-one guitar lessons are a great way to cut through the noise of the internet and find what works for YOU! As an experienced teacher, I've worked with hundreds of guitar students over the years. This experience often means I can find out where you are at pretty quickly, listen to your goals, and help come up with a strategy to get you to where you want to be.

Here are some of the pathways that I teach in private lessons:

  • Good flatpicking technique that will grow with you.

  • Fiddle tune and bluegrass repertoire

  • Learning techniques to create good-sounding bluegrass guitar breaks at your level so you can jam with others.

  • Carter-style and Crosspicking arranging so you can sound great all by yourself without a band.

  • Bluegrass Rhythm Guitar

  • Improvising and arranging

Regular Time Slots Available

Some advantages of regular ongoing lessons are:

  • A teacher can help you follow a systematic curriculum to get from where you are to where you want to be.

  • A teacher can help you make small adjustments and improvements in technique over time that cannot be done in a single session.

  • regular accountability means you stay motivated long enough to keep getting better

  • When you reserve a time slot, that time is always available for you.

Single Lessons

Single lessons can be great way to get started. You can actually learn quite a lot in a single lesson. A good teacher can:

  • demystify a difficult concept, and make sure you get on the right path

  • Help you make sure you're on the right track with technique

  • teach a song or a single concept

  • Give you some material to help you reach the next step
